Single Volunteers San Diego (SVSD) is a not-for-profit organization of single people who want to meet other singles while volunteering around San Diego County.

1) Volunteer. For most events sign-up is on our Event Calendar and you can see who else is volunteering. Then make a point of meeting them at the volunteering opportunity.
2) Attend the social events. At the social events you get to see who else is single and likes volunteering. Then you can see if you have similar interests in volunteering and volunteer together. Or just know who else is a volunteer and meet them at volunteering opportunities.
We have assisted Racelegal.com, SAYS, Stand Up For Kids, MDA, San Diego Audubon Society and many more organizations. Please click here to see a list of past events.
As volunteer opportunities occur, we post them on our Events Calendar and email our membership (most, but not all the time). Most volunteer activities involve a small number of volunteers at a time, however, we do get calls for large numbers for major fund-raising events.
Ongoing Volunteer Needs: If an organization has an ongoing need for volunteers that is posted separately at Ongoing Volunteers Needed.
Please do not join unless you will volunteer and please do not volunteer unless you are sure you will attend. Given that, if you want to join go here: JOIN!
The Members: As of January 1st, 2009, we have over 1,500 members in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and up! Most are in their 30's and 40's.
Also, we now have Singles Trips! A company that puts together 40 trips a year for singles has included us in their sources for singles. If you pick a trip because you like it, the people you meet on the trip will have that in common with you and also be single! Another great way to meet! Click here for information on singles trips.

SVSD is having some changes made! I am replacing the old sign-up and membership software with JomSocial which is full-blown community software that will allow members to socialize online, create events themselves (which will be approved), and do other stuff like picture and video posting.
If you are already signed-up, sign-in and see the changes! You can send other members messages and a lot more.
For new members, sign-in and enjoy!
Also, I will be calling on non-profits to get them to sign-up and place their events and needs directly on SVSD. If any one wants to help with contacting San Diego non-profits, please contact me!
Thanks,
Gregg
The people in this group have three things in common to start-off with: they are single, in the San Diego area, and like to volunteer! That's a good start. We try to have at least one singles event every month or two. The parties are normally planned for the 3rd Saturday of the month at various places around San Diego County.
Social events normally have a $5 - $15 fee associated with them. Social Event fees are not-refundable, but may be applied to the next event if the event needs to be cancelled.
These are some pictures from our 1st TGIF Sushi Party at Bamboo Hut. Ages ranged from 20's to 60's. There is no normal attendance level, but every time people seem to have a good time and make new friends or more.
Our 2nd 2011 social will be at Bamboo Hut Sushi & Grill on Friday, February 25th at 7PM . There is a $5 cover to attend. See ya there!
Bamboo Hut is located at:
9172 Mira Mesa Blvd
San Diego, CA
92126
Directions: Best way to get there if not living in Mira Mesa is to go to I-15 and take it to Mira Mesa Blvd. exit. Head West (away from the hills) into Mira Mesa. At Black Mountain Road and Mira Mesa Blvd. you will see a Bank of America. Take a right into the drive right after the bank. Bamboo Hut is in that lot right next to Wings N' Things. Call me at 619-203-7536 if you are lost. For more information about the food there check out BambooHutSanDiego.com
Please sign-up and like with every event, if you sign-up please show up!

Members who have refused emails from SVSD or whom have a bad email address are deleted from mailing lists and their access is removed from this website. They can gain access by signing-up again with a valid email address. We are doing about one email mailing a month.Last Updated on Tuesday, 14 April 2009 06:43 Tuesday, 14 April 2009 06:42
