Administrative
We are looking for friendly, professional volunteers to answer phones, help with mailings and provide general administrative support at our office. If you are looking to strengthen you administrative skills, have experience answering phones, and have the ability to multi-task, we would love to have you on our team! Volunteers are involved in a variety of tasks, such as greeting guests, filing, answering phones, updating various forms and binders, and ensuring office equipment is working properly.
Ambassador
Help keep Downtown El Cajon clean and safe! Volunteers will assist Ambassadors with patrolling downtown, securing special events, and providing visitors with parking, restaurant, and event information. If you’re friendly, enjoy being outside, and love people, this is the perfect position for you!
Community Development Organizer
Join us in making Downtown El Cajon a vibrant and prosperous community! We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help educate the community about Lend A Hand events, develop neighborhood profiles, assist with research and presentations to community organizations, and much more! If you are passionate about community based development and want to make a difference in Downtown El Cajon, this is the perfect position for you!
Donor Appreciation
Do you have strong verbal communication skills? Are you great on the phone? If yes, we have the perfect position for you! We are looking for volunteers to help strengthen our relationship with past donors. Volunteers will be responsible for calling past donors, thanking them for their contribution, and informing them about our special events and programs. Don’t worry – you don’t have to ask for money! You just help us make people feel appreciated for their philanthropy.
Economic Development
Facilitating awareness, maintaining financial support, and building relationships are critical to the sustainability of our programs. Volunteers will help strengthen our relationship with business owners and community leaders through providing assistance with our Business Success Program, Business Education Program, Good Morning Meetings, Design Review Program, and Art, Design, & Heritage Program. If you are business oriented, a good communicator, and have a passion for community based development, we would love for you to join the team!
Fundraising
The Fundraising Volunteer is responsible for diversifying and increasing revenue streams and other related activities that will help to ensure financial support for, and awareness of, the organization’s programs. This position reports to the Resource Development Coordinator and carries out the work of the Resource Development Committee.
Housing
The Housing Volunteer is responsible for providing support for the homeownership program. The volunteer will maintain the homeownership resource center materials, conduct outreach for the Wisconsin Cottages project, compile data from homebuyer surveys, and provide information and referral. This position reports to the Housing Coordinator.
Downtown El Cajon Promoter
We are determined to inform the region of our many events, activities, and programs. Raising awareness will help ensure that we obtain the financial support necessary to sustain our programs. If you believe in Downtown El Cajon and are committed to community based development, we could really use your help! Volunteers do everything from writing articles to distributing promotional materials.
