EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Teen Court is a juvenile diversion program where first-time offenders are sentenced by a jury of their peers - other high school students. Real, binding courtroom sentencing hearings are conducted where high school students serve as jurors, prosecuting attorneys, defense attorneys, bailiffs and court clerks. Our volunteer need is for case managers to serve as a mentor and Teen Court liaison to the offender and family for 60 days while the sentence is being completed. Also, adult attorneys can mentor student attorneys before and during hearings.
