HeadNorth Foundation - Peer Support ProgramPosition Title: Peer Mentor(s)
Purpose: Provides mentor support during the most critical transitions that occur from hospital to home. Through this program, HeadNorth hopes to create a network of support for individuals affected by spinal cord injury in their pursuit of perseverance and triumph.
Key Responsibilities: To provide informational, emotional and appraisal support to address the needs of both the individual and the family; Mentor will focus on the following areas: practical, emotional, and identity
Specified Interests: Passionate about providing assistance and support for those with spinal cord injury
Qualifications Required: Volunteer must have prior personal knowledge of SCI and have experience in identifying and applying personal coping styles
Length of Appointment: Ongoing/long-term
Time Commitment: Varies
Development Opportunities: Programs, Events, Committees, and Administrative
